Blue M Ships Class A Oven with Solvent Monitoring
Blue M®, a global industrial and laboratory ovens manufacturer, announced the international shipment of a Class A safety oven equipped with a solvent monitor and roll-in rack. This custom design meets the stringent safety requirements of industries working with volatile materials.
The safety oven's solvent monitoring system continuously analyzes the chamber's atmosphere to detect the presence of flammable gases or vapors. If any risk is identified, the system automatically shuts down the oven and triggers alarms, safeguarding both personnel and valuable equipment. This proactive safety measure is crucial in preventing potential ignition of flammable solvents. A manual reset is required to resume the oven operation after the alarm condition is cleared.
The 304 stainless steel interior chamber, with dimensions of 36" x 36" x 48" and a capacity of 36 cubic feet, features Heli-Arc welded seams and ports for a vapor-tight construction. This prevents fume infiltration and the accumulation of flammable materials, ensuring a safe working environment. The unit also includes a stainless-steel roll-in rack cart for ease of product loading. An electro-mechanical door lock ensures the door remains securely closed during operation, safeguarding both the product load and the working environment by preventing accidental disruptions by the door being opened during processing and the release of flammable atmospheres.
The temperature range of this Class A oven is 15°C above ambient to 316°C and is controlled by a Watlow F4T with INTUITION temperature controller with 40 ramp and soak profiles. The controller offers TRU-TUNE™ adaptive control and Ethernet connectivity. The ProcessView Data Acquisition Software provides enhanced capabilities including data logging, remote PC/Smart Phone access, and bar/QR code scanning.
Engineered for safe operation with volatile materials, this oven includes several safety options. A blowout relief panel protects against excessive pressure buildup within the chamber. A purge timer can be set to provide a minimum of four complete air changes to ensure proper ventilation before the heaters are energized. A safety door switch automatically shuts down the blower and heating elements when the door is opened and restarts the purge cycle if it occurs in the middle of a process cycle. An emergency power-off button allows the operator to easily shut off the equipment in the event of an emergency and an airflow switch shuts off the heating elements in case of a blower system failure.
“This Blue M Class A oven features a solvent monitoring system that will continually analyze the chamber’s atmosphere to ensure there is no presence of flammable gases or vapors. Engineered-to-order options like these allow us to meet the strict requirements of our customers in industries that work with combustible materials.” – Jonathan Young, Blue M Product Manager
